San Juan Night in Los Cristianos – A Magical Fiesta by the Fire!
If you’re in Tenerife in June and looking for a unique experience full of culture, joy, and a stunning beach atmosphere – San Juan Night in Arona is a must.
🌿 What is the San Juan tradition?
San Juan is rooted both in Christian tradition (celebrating Saint John the Baptist) and ancient pagan rituals linked to the summer solstice. Fire is believed to cleanse the soul, jumping over flames brings luck, and a midnight swim in the ocean promises renewal and good energy.
In the Canary Islands, this night is celebrated with passion – with bonfires on the beach, live music, dancing, and wishes written on paper thrown into the flames. It’s the most magical night of the year.
